RELIEF CARVING COURSE at Wood Bern Studio, Barcelona

No previous experience required. We start from scratch.
All materials and tools provided at the workshop.
DURATION AND SCHEDULE:
- Total duration: 21 hours (7 weeks)
- Once a week, on tuesdays. (3 hours per session)
- From 16:30 to 19:30h.
- Starts Tuesday 3rd February 2025 - Ends: Tuesday 17th March 2025
PRICE & PAYEMENT:
- Price per person: 420€. (You can split payment in 2.)
- Unique payment: -5% discount. (Let me know in advance)
- Payment through website, bank transfer or cash.
- To confirm spot: Pay & deposit of 100€ or the total sum of the course.
GOAL:
To understand wood and its properties, learn to work with gouges and carving tools, and develop a solid foundation in relief wood carving.
WHAT WILL YOU CARVE?
1 Practice piece for learning exercises.
2 Final projects.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
- Safety& grips of tools.
-Wood anatomy: Learn about woodgrain and fibers. How to work with and around them.
-Gouges: LEarn the different shapes and sizes and what use does each one have.
-Basic exercices: Focused on learning and understanding the wood the tools and learn the basics to carve your final projects.
-Projecte 1: A simple and easy carving to test what you've learned in previous sessions.
-Projecte 2: A more intricate design to show all your newly acquired skills.
-Finished: Oil, dark stain, wax & more.
NOTES:
- Minimum of 3 people is necessary to activate the workshop. Maximum 6 spots.
- The student keeps all his carvings.
- If reservation cancelled with less than 10 days prior to the course, pay & deposit price will not be refunded.
